We work with schools, colleges, youth services, local authorities and industry across the West Midlands to reach young people who would not otherwise find a route into film.

Refer a young person

If you work with young people aged 16 to 25, we would like to hear from you. Introductory Courses are for ages 16 to 19, and there is year-round activity for everyone up to 25. Many of our strongest participants arrive through a referral from someone who knew the programme would suit them.

Deliver with us

Each course runs with a local delivery partner. That means venues, technical facilitators, and organisations already trusted by young people in their area.

Offer an opportunity

Our alumni are looking for runner roles, trainee positions, placements and work experience. If you have something, we have a network of young people who have already proved they turn up and work.

What partnership involves

• A named contact at Rural Media throughout
• Safeguarding and data-sharing arrangements agreed in writing before anything begins
• Clear expectations on both sides about time, cost and outcomes
• Recognition in programme materials and at screenings

Launch events

We are running a launch event in each course area between October and November. They are aimed at partners, referrers and local industry: what the programme is, who it suits, how referrals work, and how to get involved. Free to attend, and there is usually food.
